Jog falls!!!

One of the most magnificent and picturesque falls in India. Set in the wild and exotic surrounding of the river Sharavathi, this majestic falls drops nearly 800 feet and forms into 4 different channels... Mosty famously known as Raja, Roarer, Rocket and Rani. View in monsoon is unforgettable experience.

Friday morning finally few people signed in for a one day trip to Jog falls on the weekend:) Jog falls is situated around 450 from Bangalore can be reached by train or bus. Train available from Bangalore to Shimoga from there got to take local bus to jog. Otherwise buses available directly to jog or sagara which is around 30 km from jog. But as we were 9 people and plan was planned all of a sudden we ended up booking a TT.

On Friday night @ 10 we departed from Bangalore and reached Sagara at 7 in the morning. We booked a budget hotel just to freshen up.  2 hours, 500 bugs .

After breakfast in sagara we started to jog which is around 30 km away @ 9 . Half an drive to jog was breathtaking. Lush green rice fields on both the sides of the road made journey short and pleasant.

Weather was good. As expected it was slightly raining. As we reached jog it was completely covered with mist. We could hardly see the falls.

Noisy group all of a sudden broke into silence as we got a glimpse of jog most famously known as Raja Rocket Roarer Rain.

No entry always tempts us to go on that direction...lol... Yeah same was the case with us. Just to add bit of adventure to our trip we decided to trek down near the falls. Treked for 40 min but later found a dead end so decided to get back.

We decided to go to other side of the falls . Had heard loads about that place... People can actually bend down from top of the falls.  10 min drive n we reached the other side of the falls.

View was better than before.

Little scary to look down. Its worth the risk.....If you happen to visit jog anytime do visit this place to look down the falls. You will carry great experience with you.

Best time to Visit is soon after Monsoon (August and September).
